Start by playing a full game together · Lesson 08
When to finish and how to find the winner
The board need not be full. If neither player wants another move, each can pass, placing no stone and giving the turn away. After consecutive passes, still check life, death and areas before deciding the result.
Choose “Count the area” under “Finish.” When the app can confirm groups and empty-point ownership, it shows details. The result is saved only after you check the real board and confirm. If stones remain uncertain, keep playing or ask a teacher; do not remove them as dead on your own.
Use “Record resignation” only when one player clearly resigns, and confirm their color. If you are simply tired, go home and resume later, or end practice while keeping the record without a winner. Every successfully confirmed move is saved locally automatically.
You can start playing together before learning complex life and death. Read chapter 4 when questions arise. At the end, chapter 6 helps distinguish endgame plays, dame and scoring.
