Review: what is worth revisiting after a game?
Review means using the record to revisit what happened. With your child, one position they want to discuss is enough: what they intended and what changed later. If they do not want to talk, leave it for another time.
Start with facts, such as “connecting gave these stones new liberties” or “after this cut, both sides need care.” Saying only “good” or “bad” does not help a child know what to look for next time.
A sound move handles a real need reliably; a tesuji does it with particular skill and efficiency. “Crude” or “bad” describe moves, not children. Missing one variation does not erase the effort put into the whole game.
Lessons explain general ideas. Move insight describes specific local facts that the current implementation can verify; it does not cover every deeper strategy. Keep uncertain positions in the record to discuss with a teacher later.
